Mary Miller has written many articles addressing the mental health issues that arise as a result of a child spending on average more than 12,000 hours in the school system. Mary writes, "My opinions are based on a review of more than 500 studies and documents that defined the effects of current educational practices. Since publishing these articles, I have received many emails from parents asking me what they can do to prevent their children from being harmed. The best answer I have is to homeschool your children" ("The Mathematics of a Successful Life" p. 101).
Mary has asked us to make our homeschooling expertise available to you. We homeschooled our children through highschool as well as a couple of other children through to high school. Our family has been the founders and CEO's of a homeschool curriculum company, JOY Center of Learning since 1993. We have sought to provide a selection of high quality homeschool products to help parents be successful through the journey of allowing their children to become life long learners. Certainly the development for good mental health is important in this process.
